Statement of Support for Trucking Industry

Truck drivers are the backbone of this Nation and are vital to North Carolina's economy, infrastructure, and overall success. In today's world, truck drivers continue to face many obstacles and challenges, most of which are not self-imposed.

I believe North Carolina should work to become the most pro-trucking state in the Union, and right now I am issuing a public call for our elected officials to make it that way. I will personally help draft, promote, and work to pass any legislation that accomplishes, at a minimum, the following two objectives:

- Prohibits cities from passing no-idle ordinances. Idling isn't just a comfort anymore, in the era of e-logs, it's a safety critical necessity.

- Makes it a felony to render inoperable, immobile, or otherwise intentionally impede the movement of a semi or semi-trailer without the lawful authority to do so. With riots happening throughout the country, people should be prosecuted for hampering the delivery of goods that are vital to our State's economy.

Any elected officials willing to pass such legislation should reach out to me - let's get it done!

Statement on Jan 6 Storming of the Capitol

What happened today at the Capital Building is not who we are as the Republican Party, or America. The people who did this are not Republicans, they’re not Democrats, they’re not Patriots, nor are they revolutionaries. It was nothing short of open insurrection and sedition. Congress was in the middle of exercising their Constitutional duties to certify the results of the 2020 election when they were interrupted by a violent mob of terrorists.

I support any and all measures taken by law enforcement to hold those who were involved in this rebellious act accountable. We are the United States of America, we hold our officials accountable using the ballot box, not lynch mobs.

I pray for the victim of the shooting and all those touched by this senseless act of violence. I pray for our country, I hope we can bridge the divides among the people.

Statement on the Impeachment of President Trump

The Democrats announced today that they will be pushing forward with articles of impeachment, and thereby kicking off the official start of impeaching President Donald J Trump.

With historic employment, successes in trade, and the expansion of our military, the Democrats are only pushing for impeachment because as now Democratic Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler said in the 90’s, “Impeachment is the undoing of a national election”. Don’t believe me, a Democratic representative said last year on live TV, “if we don’t impeach this president, we are afraid he will be re-elected”.

This was a sham from the start, as one Fox News anchor said, “this impeachment was preordained” from the start with the goal of impeaching Trump, facts be damned.

The American people will not stand for this. I look forward to seeing a much more fair trial of President Trump’s actions in the Senate, and a much fairer trial of Democratic conduct in November.
